Newton's three laws of motion

 Newton's three laws of motion

Studying Newton's laws of motion is important so that we can understand the basic principles of the physical world. These laws are the foundation of mechanics, which give us the tools to analyze the motion of objects and the forces acting on them. Some key points to understand its importance:
  • Explanation of Natural Phenomena
  • Essential for Engineering and Technology
  • Developing Scientific Thought Process
  • Foundation of Advanced Physics

1. Newton first law of motion

"An object will remain at rest or in uniform motion in a straight line unless acted upon by an external force."
Newton's laws of motion

If an object is at rest, it will remain
at rest and when an object is in motion, it will remain in motion but friction stops it. The object cannot move on a surface for infinite time. This is impossible because the object stops due to friction.

2. Newton second law of motion

"Newton's Second Law of Motion states that the force acting on an object is equal to the mass of the object multiplied by its
acceleration."

Newton's laws of motion

Force is equal to change in momentum per unit time

Derivation ( f = ma )

3. Newton third law of motion

"Every action has equal and opposite reaction"

Newton's laws of motion

Newton's third law explains the reason behind every motion or interaction of force. If an object applies force on another object, it also reacts with an equal force.

Example: In rocket propulsion, gases apply force towards the bottom and in reaction the rocket moves upwards.
